Live CD Ripper is an audio CD grabbing tool. It can rip CD tracks to many popular audio formats (MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC etc).
Features: Live CD Ripper is designed specifically to a CD ripping tool. The CD tracks can be ripped into any of a range of formats supported by the program. These formats include AAC, AIFF, AU, CAF, FLAC, IRCAM, MP3, NIST, OGG, PAF, PVF, RAW, SVX, VOC, W64, WAV and WMA formats. ID3v1 and IDv3 tags are supported for MP3 and OGG formats. A player also is included. You can query the CDDB server for updating information on the tracks that are being ripped.
The interface is a simple one. Besides choosing the input and the output file paths, you can choose the format to be used for the output tracks from a drop-down list. For each of these lists one can choose relevant parameter settings that pop up. CD information gets displayed on screen. You could set the volume of playback. The player controls are the usual play, pause. Fast forward, rewind etc.
Overall: It is a simple application, dedicated to one specific task of ripping a CD. But what is not so common is the support of a range of formats for the output tracks and also the ability to tweak parameters in each of these formats.
